After a link to grisly photos of a child murder appeared on The Pirate Bay, the site -- known for letting users share files via the BitTorrent peer-to-peer protocol -- was embroiled in another controversy. Review: Firefox 3.1 Beta 1 no speed demon, lags behind Chrome

Something went horribly wrong between the alpha of Firefox (called Shiretoko) and the first real Firefox 3.1 beta. I'm not too impressed so far. Compared to Chrome, in testing my most frequently visited sites, Firefox 3.1 lags well behind Chrome. It seems Mozilla has not included beefed up JavaScript V8 support in this release, and it really shows.

Yahoo investors should call for Yang's head

Yahoo investors have all the reason in the world to feel bitter today, as the company stock hovers at $12, and the Yahoo-Google ad deal has been put on hold because of widespread legal and business opposition. Not that many months ago, Microsoft offered $31 a share for the company. If I owned Yahoo stock, I'd be calling for Yang's head.

This company has what it calls a "best-shore" approach to help desk support. Translation: It's offshore -- and not really very helpful.
